Accident Insurance provides compensation for treatment expenses in the event of injuries, compensation in the event of disablement and compensation as a percentage of the insurance coverage depending on the severity of the injury. The Accident Insurance coverage may also include the risk of critical medical conditions, which means compensation in the event that the patient is diagnosed with myocardial infarction, stroke, cancer or any other serious condition as well as other risks for extra security.

Injuries
If the insured person suffers an injury as a result of an accident, we pay compensation for pain and suffering as a one-time benefit. The amount of the benefit depends on the severity of the injury and is calculated based on the agreed insured sum.

Medical Expenses
If the insured person incurs medical expenses as a result of an accident that are not covered by state health insurance, we reimburse these expenses up to the agreed insured sum. We cover the costs of necessary medical care, rehabilitation, medicines, medical aids, and transportation to a medical facility in Estonia. Medical expenses are reimbursed based on invoices issued by a state, municipal, or private medical institution or rehabilitation centre registered in the Republic of Estonia.

Daily allowance
If the insured person’s temporary incapacity for work due to an accident lasts for more than 7 consecutive calendar days, we pay a daily allowance for each day of incapacity. For the first 5 days, we pay 100% of the daily salary, but no more than the daily allowance specified in the insurance contract. For each subsequent day, we pay 50% of the daily salary, but no more than the daily allowance specified in the insurance contract.

Daily hospital allowance
If the insured person is hospitalized for at least one day due to an accident, we pay a daily hospital allowance for each day spent in hospital. For each day, we pay the daily hospital allowance specified in the insurance contract.

Child joy*
If the insured child suffers an injury as a result of an accident, we help make their recovery period a little more enjoyable. We reimburse the costs of sweets, fruit, cinema tickets and tickets to other entertainment activities up to the amount specified in the insurance contract, provided that these expenses are incurred within 6 months after the accident.

Compensation for refresher training*
If the insured child is absent from primary or secondary school for more than 3 weeks due to an accident and falls behind in their studies as a result, we reimburse the costs of private tutoring.

Child education allowance*
If the insured person dies as a result of an accident, we will pay an education benefit to cover the tuition fees associated with one child’s higher education, up to the amount agreed in the insurance contract. The education benefit is paid for a child who was under 24 years of age at the time of the insured person’s death. Payment of the benefit ends if the child has reached the age of 27 by the beginning of the academic year.

Critical illnesses
If, during the validity of the insurance contract, the insured person is diagnosed with a critical illness specified in the insurance terms, such as a heart attack, stroke, cancer, chronic kidney failure, paralysis, multiple sclerosis, Type 1 diabetes or AIDS, we will pay a one-time benefit in the amount of the agreed sum insured.
Critical illness cover becomes effective 90 days after the insurance contract comes into force. To be eligible for the benefit, the insured person must survive for at least 28 days after the diagnosis.
In the event of a critical illness diagnosis, the insured person may use the Diagnose.me platform once during the insurance period to obtain a free second medical opinion on their diagnosis from international specialists. The service allows the insured person to receive independent medical advice in their native language, as well as additional information about the diagnosis, treatment options and medical procedures.

Permanent disability
If the insured person suffers permanent disability as a result of an accident, we will pay a one-time benefit. The amount of the benefit depends on the degree of permanent disability and is calculated based on the agreed sum insured. If the degree of permanent disability exceeds 50%, we will pay 100% of the agreed sum insured as the benefit.

Death
If the insured person dies as a result of an accident that occurred during the validity of the insurance contract, and the death occurs either during the validity of the insurance contract or within one year after the accident, we will pay the beneficiary named in the policy or the heirs a one-time benefit equal to 100% of the agreed sum insured.

Funeral expenses
If the insured person dies as a result of an accident, we will pay a funeral benefit to the person who arranges the funeral and bears the related expenses. We will reimburse the costs of a funeral held in Estonia, including the costs of the coffin, funeral arrangements, transportation of the deceased, mortuary services, and the purchase and installation of a gravestone.

Sports often lead to accidents and injuries. If you play sports and have an otherwise mobile lifestyle, it makes sense to insure yourself.

Accident insurance is also required for children involved in sports. Injured toddlers may need paid medical care or rehabilitation to recover quickly.
